Business opportunities abound online, and form the basis of the current frenzy that is taking place online every day. Millions of websites are created, and promoted with the sole purpose of selling some sort of business opportunity to an ever increasing mass of people. Their motto is "get the sale at any cost".
But there is a deeper meaning behind all of this. The Internet is replete with the inventions and creations of smart entrepreneurs. At the end of the day however, most websites are built to create profit. But is profit all there is to building an online business? I know that greed and avarice abound on the Internet today. This is often seen in some of these so-called business opportunities. Could there be a higher purpose for doing business online? I submit that there is.
Les Brown declares, "In the end, it is the person you become, not the things you have achieved, that is the most important". I agree whole-heartedly. One of the dangers of doing business online is the temptation to claim profit at the expense of naive people simply because it is so easy to hide your identity. Too many of these poor folks have lost money they could not afford to lose because someone else was too greedy to care about them.
But there are some genuine people online. Though they may not readily give away their secrets, their motives transcend mere profit. These teachers are able to help people change from within and learn how to earn extra income through their own ingenuity and special gifts. These teachers have recognized that there is no value in simply teaching someone how to get more money if their life-styles and habits demonstrate a lack of money management skills, and proper ethics. If you do not know how to be a good steward of a little money, it is unlikely that you will be a good steward of plenty. That's what Les Brown is alluding to.
The problem that many of these teachers face, is that their messages are often lost on the very people they seek to help. Most surfers are looking for quick fixes or instant gratification. The importance of delayed gratification is often missed by this crowd because they become too focused on getting quick money.
This is one of the reasons, why the messages of teachers such as Bob Proctor, Jim Rohn, Mark Victor Hansen, and Stephen Covey often remain hidden from the people who need them most. If you are looking for business opportunities, consider this. If the business you are promoting is going to put cash into your pocket but hurt a bunch of people in the process, then reconsider your position. Why not bring value to the market instead? You will be well rewarded for taking this approach, and not just with money either!
